Write On Track
"Write On Track" classes provide a multi-sensory approach to improving handwriting skills. These classes are made up of small group sessions that provide the fundamental precursors to improving a child's visual-motor and fine-motor skills, posture, grasp, writing legibility, formation and speed. I actively and joyfully teach handwriting habits. It is proven that "good habits lead to good handwriting and that directly links to literacy and overall school success" (Lust and Donica 2011). Handwriting is an essential skill for both children and adults and can affect learning success. Even in the today's age of technology, handwriting remains the primary tool of communication and knowledge assessment for students in the classroom. When computers fail us, good old paper and pencil are always reliable. Children who experience difficulty with handwriting may avoid writing and decide they can't write. Research literature extensively documents the consequences of poor handwriting on early literacy and academic performance. "Write On Track" will help children gain confidence in handwriting and set them up for future success.
